Weekly Sulfur Review: Slight increase in East China Region. Author/Source: Date: 2016-04-11. Clicks: 1. Last week (4.2-4.8), most markets remained stable except for those in East China. Prices in East China rose by 20 yuan per ton. Recently, due to maintenance work at the Puguang plant, inventory levels at Wanzhou Port decreased. Additionally, with prices rising to 820 yuan per ton, spot prices along the Yangtze River also increased; the price for pellets ranged from 770 to 790 yuan per ton. However, weak demand led to a cautious attitude among buyers, and there was little activity on the part of speculators, resulting in insufficient momentum for further price increases. Coupled with ample supply at the ports, the main ships are gradually arriving there, leaving traders in an uneasy state of mind. The sulfur market in China has risen driven by speculative demand from traders; CFR China prices are at 91–95 dollars per ton. However, actual demand from downstream factories has not improved, and most factories lack the confidence to make purchases. Main domestic sulfur prices: Solid sulfur in the Northeast region ranges from 550 to 700 yuan per ton, while liquid sulfur costs between 550 and 600 yuan per ton ; North China solid sulfonate: 700–800 yuan/ton; liquid sulfonate: 620–690 yuan/ton ; Yanjiang Gusuang: 730-840 yuan/ton ; Shandong Gusulfon: 740–800 yuan per ton; Liquid sulfon: 660–800 yuan per ton ; Huadong solid sulfonate: 750–870 yuan per ton; liquid sulfonate: 700–820 yuan per ton ; South China Guosulfon: 680–800 yuan/ton ; Southwest solid sulfonate costs 740–820 yuan per ton, while Northwest solid sulfonate costs 650–880 yuan per ton.
