How should the methanol solution from the water washing of raw materials in the alkylation unit be treated?

At present, the methanol solution used as a raw material in our plant’s alkylation unit is discharged directly on-site, and it has a strong odor. Is there any good solution for this? We have methanol-to-hydrogen production facilities; I’m not sure whether a methanol solution of lower purity can be used as a raw material for this process
