The valve controller’s indicator locator is faulty; the manufacturer recommends installing a safety barrier

I purchased a batch of Valtec instruments, and several of the valve positioners among them malfunctioned and gave no response. The manufacturer sent a young man to take a look, and he said things like the current being unstable, adding that no safety barrier was installed and that the locator had burned out. Since I’m an amateur, I’m asking for everyone’s help: is this the reason, or is there some other reason?
Under normal circumstances, a 4–20mA signal will not damage the meter, unless it is connected to 220VAC.:)
The safety barrier is a component of an intrinsically safe explosion-proof system; it is not designed to protect instruments. The damage to the locator has nothing to do with the safety barrier.
Don’t listen to what the manufacturer’s staff say; it’s purely a quality issue with the product...
The burnout of the locator has no direct relation to the safety barrier; the function of the safety barrier is to ensure that in the event of an abnormality on site, the voltage generated upon arcing does not reach a level high enough to cause the materials to explode； In some places, explosion protection isn’t required; I didn’t install any safety barriers there either, and it still works fine. So, the locator will get damaged unless it is exposed to a voltage of over 36V; 24V should not cause any problems at all. Moreover, it’s an AO output, so there’s absolutely no issue with it~! It’s a quality issue on the part of the manufacturer; it is recommended to contact them to have the product replaced. Be firm in your approach – it’s advisable not to pay the remaining amount for now. If the manufacturer refuses to help, it’s better to find a reliable manufacturer in the future. If the budget is limited, I can recommend valves from Zhongkong, Shanghai Yihé, and Wuxi Intelligent – these are the three domestic brands we use, and their products are quite good… at least they come with proper after-sales support. Choose a reliable locator; I recommend Yaskawa for you……
