I’ve seen a tutorial online on reversing a high-pressure coal slurry pump on the Gasification Network before, but I still think it’s quite dangerous and don’t recommend it
I also saw it on Gasification Network; I wonder if anyone has done this before?
The risk is too high; the risk does not match the reward. There are significant issues with online switching of high-pressure slurry pumps: 1. How can the valves and flow rate be controlled accurately? 2. How does the safety interlock for dual-pump operation function during switching? 3. How does it correspond to the ESD system after a successful switch? . Furthermore, since the switching conditions are met, the outlet pipelines need to be connected in parallel, and the dead zone cannot be completely eliminated during long-term operation.

There are precedents for such use; it was done on Yankuang Luhua’s first-generation Texaco unit, but it wasn’t done again afterward, as the risks are indeed very high
