Dear colleagues and experts: In the chlor-alkali industry, what is the standard practice for dealing with dilute sulfuric acid that has been dried by using wet chlorine gas? Is it delivered as takeout, or is it recycled and purified for reuse? Could you share your experience? Thank you!
It’s mostly takeout, so the cost of recovery must be high.

Our company can concentrate and recover sulfuric acid, and then reuse it.
Our company is engaged in recycling; its production capacity of caustic soda is only 100,000 tons. The local electricity price is 0.24 yuan per kilowatt-hour, while the purchase price of sulfuric acid is as high as 900 yuan per ton. By concentrating waste sulfuric acid, we can save 1.26 million yuan in costs each year. The thickening process package provided by Nantong Jiuxin Company was used, and the thickening effect was quite good. It is said to be the first such device of its kind in China, used in chlor-alkali plants for the concentration of waste sulfuric acid; it is likely to be widely adopted soon!
