With the gradual development of China’s industrial sector, water softening equipment has been widely used in industry and has received high recognition from users. However, after being in use for a period of time, such equipment is prone to certain common problems. Damage to the O-ring at the point where the multi-way valve is inserted into the center tube. This fault most often occurs during the initial testing of the water softening equipment right after it has been installed, when the hardness of the water output exceeds the acceptable levels. The reason for this issue is that there is no chamfer on the upper part of the center tube, or no lubricant is applied; as a result, the O-ring at the insertion point of the multi-way valve gets damaged, which leads to hard water mixing with the softened water and an excessive hardness in the output water. The solution is to replace the O-ring and apply lubricant during installation. 2. Aging and failure of the softening resin This issue usually occurs after 2 years of use of the water softening equipment, when the softening resin loses its effectiveness and cannot be restored even through regeneration; the solution is to replace the resin. 3. Inability to absorb salt or short salt absorption time: This issue occurs when there are problems with the salt absorption system of the water softening equipment, or when the inlet water pressure is too low (in cases where a jet pump is used). To resolve this problem, check whether the jet pump is clogged or if there are faults with the salt absorption pump, and increase the inlet water pressure (the appropriate pressure range is 0.2–0.4 Mpa).
