Dear sea friends, when conducting LOPA analysis, we need to consider the PFD data for valves, instruments, and various protection measures. Is there a comprehensive database available for this? Thanks for sharing~
When working on LOPA, you are likely referring to the failure frequency of BPCS/DCS instruments and actuators, not PFDs. There are various industry manuals that can be used as references, such as the Oreda manual; we currently use the database built into the E*da software. Since LOPA is only semi-quantitative, the typical failure frequency of sensors is calculated and analyzed at 1X10-1 per year.
