We often see and hear that when wearing a seat belt, it should be \"hung high and used low\"”； If strap separation is not allowed, can we use our seat belts in a “low-mounted, high-used” manner?
Give an example? Under what conditions? If the conditions aren’t available, one must still do a good job by creating them. Security management is not something given to you; even if difficulties are created, it still needs to be carried out. I remember once, when there was exhaust at the top of the condenser and no platform was available, people climbed up onto the supports; in fact, a scaffold was even built just for that purpose. Then, in ten minutes, the work was done. It took a day to set up and dismantle the scaffolding as well as to handle the paperwork. It’s all for safety, what do you think?
Hanging it at a higher position and using it at a lower one can provide protection, but sometimes the site conditions do not allow for hanging it at a higher height; in such cases, safety measures must be taken. If nothing else works, then hanging it at a lower position despite being designed for a higher one is still better than not hanging it at all.
The length of the seat belt is fixed; it’s best not to hang it low, as that increases the distance of fall. At the very least, it should be hung horizontally.
Using something in a position where it’s not normally used can provide protection
It is absolutely unacceptable to use safety equipment at a lower level than intended; otherwise, in the event of an accident, everyone is responsible. There are no circumstances that exempt one from this rule – it’s just a matter of whether you’re willing to create the necessary conditions. Using safety equipment at a lower level, even at heights of 3–5 meters, can lead to serious accidents. When the safety belt tightens during a fall, it can easily throw the person against scaffolding or other solid objects, so it’s better not to use such equipment at all
