The liquid oxygen pump VP 5/310 used in our facility is manufactured by the French company CRYOSTAR. Over the past few years since it was put into use, there have been issues with the motor’s temperature. When we contacted the original seller, the costs associated with repairs were too high and the repair process took too much time. Are there any manufacturers in China that specialize in the repair and maintenance of such pumps? (Please provide contact information.) Do the sister companies that use such pumps have their own maintenance teams? Please share some relevant experience images so that students can learn from them. Don’t skimp on this money – you only need to have it repaired every few years, so there’s no need to save. The repairs done by outsiders are not professional, which can create hidden problems that will cause regret later on.

Is this a reciprocating pump or? The most crucial aspect of repairing oxygen pumps is to degrease all components; if degreasing is not thorough, explosions can occur.

The demand for such pumps is not very high, and there are few manufacturers in China capable of producing them. It is precisely for this reason that manufacturers dare to charge exorbitant prices. To ensure safety, it is not recommended to choose any manufacturer at random for custom modifications. As far as I know, other manufacturers that produce cryopumps comparable to CRYOSTAR include Hangzhou Brown (American ACD); LZ can inquire about them.

Your main problem is the high motor temperature, which is a common issue with CRYSTAR pumps. We used to fix it ourselves, replacing the bearings about once a year. It’s not difficult to repair it; just focus on the main aspects. Following the instructions in the installation manual carefully will generally prevent any problems.
The internal structure of this pump is unclear. It seems that liquid oxygen pumps are used quite frequently, while ACD is more commonly used for liquid nitrogen and liquid argon. I disassembled an liquid nitrogen pump with an ACD; its shaft seal is of the labyrinth type, and the corresponding sleeve is said to be made of silver, but it seems to be made of bismuth alloy.
