I have a question! Regarding the 13 sets of large-scale ammonia synthesis units that were originally imported, is there any manufacturer that has used 103J to heat the synthesis towers under pure nitrogen conditions? Could we share information and discuss this matter?
Nitrogen can be used to raise the temperature to the catalyst’s active temperature.
The 13 sets of large nitrogen fertilizer production units should all use the Topso process; in practice, as long as the rate of temperature increase is well controlled, the synthesis tower will not need to be heated separately (unless you are in a very cold region in the north)
It’s not all Topsoe; many are Kellogg
We are Kilog’s synthesis tower, which has certain limits regarding temperature and pressure; before -5°C, the pressure in the synthesis tower must not exceed 0.35 MPa. Some synthesis towers require that the pressure remain below 1.47 MPa up to 38°C. In my opinion, it is sufficient to fill the tower with nitrogen directly at the beginning and vent it at the back of the tower – as long as the nitrogen flow rate is maintained, the heating can be controlled appropriately depending on the heating method used in the synthesis tower. Consider introducing nitrogen from 103-J only after the overall temperature of the synthesis tower exceeds 38°C.
Hi! Hello, have you used nitrogen for raising the temperature during synthesis before? What is the capacity of the device? Is the compressor a centrifugal or reciprocating type? How high does the system need to be filled with nitrogen? Do you use electric furnaces or blast furnaces? Haha! You're asking too many questions.
We use nitrogen for heating; it’s a 500,000 tons per year centrifugal compressor, with a nitrogen pressure of 20 kilograms, and the heating furnace is started up using this nitrogen
:Handshake, thank you so much! We also plan to use nitrogen for heating, and it seems feasible; we have been concerned about the conditions under nitrogen use, as the temperature at the compressor outlet is high.
Pressure is at the low level, but the temperature is fine
Running, pressure 3.0 MPa, temperature below 95. It has now been switched to hydrogen and nitrogen. Thank you!
Have you considered raising the temperature of the synthesis tower in advance, using a compressor cycle before the previous section is started up? Is it possible to achieve?
