JB/T4712.4-2007: Can supported bearings be used in pressure vessels with spherical heads?
I haven’t used it; personally, I don’t think it’s good enough.
The container has a diameter of 2100 and a height of 6650; it features a spherical head. According to JB/T4712.4-2007, support type B4 is applicable. Calculations show that the load capacity of these supports meets the requirements specified for the supports themselves; however, it is not clear whether they can be used with a spherical head

In addition to calculating the load on the supports, it is also necessary to verify the allowable vertical load on the head. However, Appendix B of JB/T4712.4-2007 only lists the allowable vertical load values for standard elliptical heads. (If a spherical head is used, how is the vertical load on the head checked?) ) There is also Appendix C, where the installation height of the supports is determined based on the standard elliptical head as well. In my personal opinion, the standard is also not recommended for spherical heads.
Since the standard does not specify that it applies only to elliptical heads, it should be applicable to all the previous calculations as well. It is only stated later that the appendix applies to Type B supports with gaskets installed on standard elliptical heads subjected to internal pressure.
