[Fable] Bear Big and Bear Little: Bear Big and Bear Little live together in one house. One day, a big hole appeared in one of the walls of the house where they lived. Xiong Da thought that Xiong Er would go and fix it. Xiong Er thought that Xiong Da would go and fix it. As a result, no one went to fix it, and eventually the hole grew bigger and bigger. Xiong Da thought that Xiong Er would definitely go and fix it now; after all, with the house in such poor condition, could it still be lived in? Xiong Er thought the same thing – Xiong Da would surely go and fix it, as the house was in such bad shape that it couldn’t possibly be used for living. In the end, neither of them went to fix it. Winter arrived, and a heavy snowstorm blew. Bear Big and Bear Little both curled up in the broken house, and as a result, they froze to death. Insight: This short story reflects the situation that exists in many manufacturing enterprises in reality – where safety hazards are clearly visible yet fail to draw attention, eventually leading to serious consequences. Some company managers, even after noticing that the fire extinguishers had expired and needed to be inspected, think nothing serious will happen, so they delay carrying out the inspection. As a result, when a fire breaks out, it’s impossible to carry out any rescue efforts, which is very unfortunate. Therefore, whenever there are safety hazards, every effort must be made to eliminate them promptly; shirking responsibility is absolutely unacceptable, nor should such hazards be allowed to persist and create even greater safety risks. Otherwise, one will end up facing punishment, just like Xiong Da and Xiong Er!
It makes sense; many companies do carry out inspections for safety hazards, and most issues can indeed be identified. However, implementing corrections to those issues turns into a major problem. In some organizations, whoever discovers the issue is responsible for dealing with it, so not all issues can be reported. There are also concerns about offending other departments in cases involving inter-departmental tasks, which makes it difficult to address the issues. Thus, identifying problems is simple, but making corrections is hard.
Potential hazards must be addressed promptly; otherwise, the consequences will be severe.....
