The eternal flame in our company’s torch cannot be lit at high altitudes. To light our torch, we use two tubes: one contains an electric igniter, and the other is used for the eternal flame itself. The electric igniter is used to start the combustion, which then spreads to the tube containing the eternal flame. Tests have shown that lighting it from the ground works fine, which means there is no problem with the tube intended for the eternal flame. However, it fails to ignite at high altitudes, and several attempts at cleaning it haven’t helped either. Please help us figure out what the reason might be
Isn’t the one with electric ignition the perpetual flame, and the other one the main torch?
It’s possible that there is an obstruction in the perpetual light pipeline; try blowing it out. If that doesn’t work, climb up and check it.
A protective cover needs to be added to that part outside at high altitude; otherwise, it is greatly affected by wind direction. We’ve added one here, and now it’s fine!
The one with an electric igniter is called a light gun, or an ignition gun. In all cases, electric ignition is used to light the igniter tube/ignition gun, and then that is used to light the permanent flame. There could be many reasons for this issue. First, you need to determine whether the ignition tube has been lit. Then, check whether the flame of the permanent light is strong enough when tested on the ground; otherwise, it might be blown out once it’s up there. Although permanent lights come equipped with wind shields, wind speeds can vary.
The perpetual lamps vary among different manufacturers; There are integrated perpetual lamps and separate perpetual lamps; the integrated type can be ignited directly using a lighter ; The split-type everlasting lamp is ignited by a flame starter tube. Check whether the fuel gas for the constant-light lamp is supplied; if so, it may have been ignited only to go out again. If it goes out, a wind shield needs to be added.
Torch towers are usually very tall, with straight ladders – it’s extremely dangerous to climb to the top
Are there any pictures? We don’t have any covers here; the everlasting lamps seem small, and they’re at risk of being blown out by strong winds

There could be multiple reasons: the flame-supporting pipeline is blocked, the flame in the ignition tube has poor stability, the position of the ignition tube relative to the permanent flame is inappropriate, and so on. In fact, permanent flames are prone to getting blocked, especially those of energy-saving types, which have very small openings at the top; if these openings get clogged by debris during cleaning, it’s possible that the blockage will worsen as more attempts are made to clear it
