Burning coke oven gas results in yellow smoke coming from the chimney – what causes this? How to manage it?
Is there any leakage in the coke oven? What is the air excess factor?
The yellow smoke is nitrogen oxides; SO2 is produced during the combustion process, and it is this SO2 that gives the smoke its yellow color. Moreover, this substance is toxic. It’s likely that the desulfurization and denitrification processes did not meet the requirements.
Has the flue gas not been desulfurized? If desulfurization is not done properly, then the desulfurization is unsuccessful! All online analyses have available data for reference.
Before our factory installed desulfurization and denitration systems, yellow smoke would constantly billow from it; there were what could be called the “three dragons” on site: the white dragon, the yellow dragon, and the black dragon:lol:lol
