In winter, bacterial activity decreases, while COD and ammonia nitrogen levels increase
Increasing SV30 raises the dissolved oxygen level; however, if the water temperature is below 15°C, the COD removal rate is very low, and the ammonia nitrogen removal rate is even lower. When the water temperature is below 10°C, virtually no reduction in ammonia nitrogen levels occurs.
