Serial blowers have been in use for over a decade (Shenmu models with a wind volume of 50,000). Before starting, the fan should be rotated manually; soot cleaning should be carried out at the slip rings (where the carbon brushes are located). The inlet valve of the fan should be opened to 20–30%, while the outlet valve should be opened fully. High-voltage power is supplied, and the control room checks whether the conditions for starting are met. The speed setting is set at 20% to prevent tripping caused by a sudden change from 100% to 0% during serial startup. After power is supplied to the fan, its energy storage system is activated, and then the fan is started. Once the inverter is switched on and the serial operation indicator reaches its maximum value, operation is carried out using the speed control mechanism; once the indicator returns to its normal level, control is taken over by the control room. The inlet valve of the fan is then opened fully, and once normal air supply is established, the inlet and outlet valves are usually switched to manual control.
