The shell side of the reboiler at the bottom of the tower is heated with hot water. Is it necessary to install a vent valve at the highest point of the shell side pipes? Are there any design specifications?
It’s optional, but it’s better to include it for emptying at higher levels
What I do is to add it, so as to facilitate pressure testing and emptying
Not necessarily; it depends on the actual situation. When adding something, ease of use needs to be taken into consideration.
Air resistance will slow down your startup process; it’s better to add it.
