Is the weight of an explosion suppression flashback arrester closely related to its mass?

I would like to ask the experts here: I’m facing a problem at the moment. I’ve contacted several companies regarding flame arrestors of the deflagration-type, with a diameter of DN300, to be used in PX/acetic acid storage tanks. The weights reported by these companies vary significantly, ranging from 300 to 1400 kg per unit; this also results in large differences in prices. I’d like to know whether weight is directly proportional to quality.

Medium composition, explosion protection rating, design pressure, temperature, limited/unlimited……each of these factors affects the selection and structural design of flame arresters. Do your homework and choose carefully. This is also a respect for life.
The heavier a valve isn’t necessarily the more expensive it is; this isn’t about selling materials. Each has its own strengths. Products are all goods that integrate various values together.
