Which domestic design institute is well-known for designing soda ash production processes? I would appreciate it if those who know the answer could share their insights!
The Dahuahua Institute uses the ammonia-alkali process, while the Chengdu Chengda Company (formerly the Eighth Chemical Research Institute) employs the combined-alkali process. The Dahuahua Institute focuses on experimental research, whereas Chengda Company specializes in the engineering design related to the combined-alkali process. At present, most of the basic data and design information related to soda ash in China comes from these two institutions. Academician Zhou Guangyao, an expert in the field of soda ash engineering, works at Chengda Company; however, the technical capabilities of both institutions have declined to some extent. In addition, the Tianjin branch also has certain design capabilities.

When Shuanghuan planned to expand its production capacity from 600,000 tons to 1 million tons, it considered asking the Tianjin Institute to handle the design work; however, the people at Yihua preferred to save costs, so it was our team that carried out the design work to increase production by 400,000 tons ； Huasi No. 4 Institute was once an expert in synthetic ammonia production; recently, thanks to its partnership with Shell, it has taken the lead among other institutes in the field of Shell gasification. It refuses to take on small orders. There aren’t many cases of joint alkali design; it was only carried out by the Jianghan Institute, as some of the staff there came from the Shuanghuan Design Institute
