Currently, several companies in the domestic smelting industry have started to purify waste acid to extract rhenium, and more manufacturers are conducting feasibility studies on this. Rhenium is the key ingredient in manufacturing high-temperature resistant blades for aircraft engine turbines; adding a small amount of rhenium can enhance the high-temperature resistance of these engine blades. The rhenium content in the waste acids from purification units in copper refineries, molybdenum refineries, etc. is indeed high, making it valuable for extraction; selenium, tin, mercury, and others also have high value. A bright future for large-scale sulfuric acid is approaching. . .
According to online information, almost all of China’s rhenium resources are found in molybdenum deposits. They are mainly located in deposits such as the Jinduicheng molybdenum deposit in Shaanxi, the Luanchuan molybdenum deposit in Henan, the Dahuishan molybdenum deposit in Jilin, and the Duobaoshan copper (molybdenum) deposit in Heilongjiang. The rhenium reserves in these deposits account for about 90% of China’s total rhenium reserves.
