I’m trying to adjust the temperature for stage 1, which is currently around 420. The experienced technician didn’t give detailed instructions; he only mentioned that the inlet temperature for stage 4 should be 443. Since the temperature has shifted, I need to keep the temperature for stage 1 at 425. Could anyone please tell me what appropriate temperatures should be set for the inlet and outlet of each stage, and how to determine when the temperature has shifted?
Hehe, no expert can claim to know the optimal control temperature for your equipment. Look into sulfuric acid production techniques and adjust the inlet temperatures for each stage using the maximum temperature difference method
By looking at the ignition temperature of the catalyst, we can determine the highest inlet temperature. If this temperature is too high, it means that the reactions in the earlier stages are not complete; as a result, a large amount of sulfur dioxide proceeds to react in the later stages, causing the temperatures there to become too high. At this point, the inlet temperature can be increased slightly; an increase in temperature raises the reaction rate, which in turn improves the overall performance of the catalyst. However, there is a limit to this approach, as the conversion rate is ultimately constrained by the equilibrium conversion rate. When the shift in the conversion reaction occurs, the inlet temperature of the preceding bed layer can be increased appropriately.
