Finite element analysis: How should beginners get started learning it?*

I have been working in equipment design since graduating 13 years ago; it’s almost 4 years now. For drawing, we basically only use CAD; I’ve taught myself a bit of SolidWorks on my own. I want to learn ANSYS finite element analysis now; how should I get started? Should I just buy a book on finite element analysis online to read, and then learn the software?* ? Could anyone who is familiar with finite element analysis give some advice? How to get started learning *?
