There are some large tanks containing toxic substances, and to prevent the escape of toxic gases, water seal tanks are used. Does the water in these water seal tanks need to keep flowing continuously, or is it sufficient to fill it once? What problems might arise with water seal tanks in normal use? It’s not a flow system; at least mine isn’t. Water is added to the tank up to a certain level, and the water is replaced regularly. The issue to be mindful of is the pressure in the tank.

Previously, a demineralized water tank was built that required isolation from external carbon dioxide as well as from the demineralized water inside; some pipe openings (such as overflow ports and ports for mechanical level gauges) employed a water seal mechanism. At that time, we installed a water supply pipeline at the water seal section, and the system operation and maintenance manual specified the requirements for regular water replenishment.
