Recently I came across a project, as shown in the picture, which originally used a dish-shaped head. The reviewer said that the opening was too large and exceeded the 150 range, so it could not be used. So it was changed to a tapered head. The review also said that there is no structure in which the small end of the tapered head is welded to the flange on the 150, so this structure is not allowed. Isn't this kind of structure impossible to manufacture? I think GB/T150 page 297 D.3.4.2 Butt joint connection (errata has been changed to: Full-section welded joint connection), Figure C is the welding of the head to the flange. Of course, this picture looks more like a convex head (spherical, oval, dish-shaped), but who can say that it cannot represent a tapered shape? Maybe 150 didn’t explain it clearly, or maybe it didn’t draw the welding between the conical head and the flange more closely. Ask the experts to clear up the confusion.

In fact, the poster didn't make it clear. There is no problem with the structure like that in the screenshot. It doesn't matter whether GB150 has this structure or not, as long as GB150 is not banned. The question is how do you ensure the strength and how do you calculate it?
Then I don't understand what you are saying. If there is no problem with the structure, then it is natural to calculate the tapered head (the big end is folded and the small end is not folded), the flange calculation, and the flat cover calculation. If these three calculations are passed, doesn't it mean there is no problem? According to you, this means that it cannot be calculated and the intensity cannot be guaranteed, right?
I didn't see 150 saying that the small end of the tapered head cannot be connected to the flange. Although there is no structural diagram drawn. Someone downstairs answered that it is allowed without prohibiting it, which I think makes some sense.
