According to the official WeChat account of CNPC Pipeline Bureau, on August 9, 2023, the **standard \"Design Standards for Vertical Cylindrical Welded Steel Oil Tanks\"**, compiled by the Pipeline Design Institute, passed the review by an expert panel organized by the Professional Standardization Committee for Petroleum Engineering Construction. The \"Design Standards for Vertical Cylindrical Welded Steel Oil Tanks\" were issued in 2014; with the development of the industry and continuous technological innovations in recent years, pipeline design institutes have revised these standards. The review expert group consists of 26 experts from well-known design and construction firms in the oil and petrochemical industry, as well as key universities. Adhering to the principles of science, rigor, objectivity, and fairness, the expert group reviewed and discussed each item of the manuscript submitted for evaluation, and the compilation team answered carefully the questions raised by the expert group. After three days of review, the expert group highly affirmed the work done by the drafting team over the past two years and gave high praise to the draft standard. The revision of this standard provides better technical support for technological innovation, product standardization, technical evaluation, and promotion in the tank storage industry. It offers standardized guidance documents for the design and construction of tanks, and is of great significance for driving the high-quality development of this industry.
