Recently, 5,000 tons of ammonium sulfate crystals in wet bulk form, transported by waterway through Huaxiao Huazhong, were successfully delivered to the port for unloading, marking the successful completion of the first domestic waterway shipment of this product type. Compared to traditional road transportation, water transport has significantly increased the volume of goods transported, resulting in a reduction of overall logistics costs by over 20%. It also helps to reduce carbon emissions, achieving a win-win situation in terms of economic and environmental benefits. Ammonium sulfate is a by-product of caprolactam production and constitutes a high-quality raw material for fertilizer use. However, ammonium sulfate crystals in their wet, powdered form are corrosive, have a high water content which leads to caking, and their distribution within the country has long relied on road transportation. To overcome these bottlenecks, Huaxiao Huazhong took the initiative to lead efforts, coordinating with production, customers, logistics, and other parties to conduct discussions and analyses, assess cost differences, evaluate the feasibility of water transportation, and optimize procedures for key processes such as loading and unloading as well as short-distance transfers. During the shipping process, the company worked closely with the manufacturing enterprise, with dedicated personnel on site to ensure detailed task allocation and strict monitoring of key milestones. It also coordinated promptly to address any unexpected issues, thereby ensuring the successful delivery of the first shipment by sea.
