Questions about CCS systems

Must the CCS system be controlled as a separate system, or can it be integrated with the SIS system? We have several compressors up for bidding; we don’t know much about this area. Are SIS systems generally chosen for CCS systems? It should be possible to integrate it with the SIS system, right?
CCS means that algorithms are valuable. No matter how it’s implemented, it’s just hardware. Bently, Woodward, S7-300/400, Triconex, ICS, DCS – money isn’t an issue whatsoever.
The CCS system is a dedicated control system for the unit and does not fall under the category of SIS. A control system from the same manufacturer as SIS can be used, but the two are separate and must remain independent of each other.
Thanks, does it just need to be an independent controller? The engineer station and the database can use the same system; that way I won’t need to set up separate engineer stations and operator stations. Generally, there isn’t much operation required for the compressor either.
CCS does not require a SIS; you can use a PLC or a DCS, and it is not necessary to have a SIS. The use of SIS in CCS is the result of Congasen’s misleading propaganda over the years.
I see, the manufacturers we’ve communicated with all say they use the SIS system; it seems there’s some misguidance here! :L
It cannot be considered misleading either, as the SIS system originated from the unit control systems. Due to the importance of unit control, high reliability and availability were required for its control systems; therefore, those control systems were designed to be redundant, and this approach was later applied to the SIS as well.
CCS and SIS are two completely different concepts. Two things. The manufacturer’s staff may not be able to explain it clearly. Similarly, the question posed by the original poster is also unclear. I think the original poster is asking whether CCS has requirements regarding SIL levels. There are no requirements; any PLC or DCS will do, as long as you consider it reliable. If there are such requirements, such as processors and IO cards with SIL3 certification, then the platform you select can definitely be used for SIS as well.
Conjicon’s TRICON system can function as both SIS and CCS, but the controllers are separate.
How many projects by Conixion have CCS controllers separated from the SIS?
