Pneumatic diaphragm valves are commonly used in our daily work and production, but do people really understand them? Can everyone solve the problems that arise from it on a regular basis? Next, I will briefly explain the main reasons for leakage in pneumatic diaphragm valves, in the hope that it will be helpful to everyone. Pneumatic diaphragm valves are subjected to greater pressure during opening and closing; sudden movements cause changes in the flow of water. As the valve gradually opens from a closed state, a gap is formed, and the shear force generated by the water acts on the gate, causing cuts at its edges. Repeated exposure to such forces can lead to the detachment or breakage of the sealing ring, as well as creating gaps in the gate, resulting in poor sealing of the valve. 1. Quality issues inherent in the valve itself: the anti-corrosion coating on the gate and the valve body may peel off or be too thin, leading to rusting of these components. The thickness of the rust layer can reach 30–50 millimeters, which prevents the gate from closing properly or causes damage to the sealing rings on the valve body due to the falling off of rust particles, thus resulting in poor sealing of the valve. The sealing ring has quality defects; it is not secured properly or is too thin, which causes it to fall off during the operation of the gate ; 2. Prolonged inactivity and inadequate maintenance of pneumatic diaphragm valves lead to difficulties in operating them. When such valves are not used for a long time or are not maintained, severe rusting occurs inside the valve components; the removal of this rust results in poor sealing of the valve, making it difficult to operate.
