Vortex flow meter – A vortex flow meter is a sensor that measures flow rate by utilizing rotating vortices; it features a simple structure, is not prone to clogging, and can operate stably for long periods of time, making it a very commonly used flow meter. Vortex flowmeters are suitable for fluid media such as liquids and gases, and they feature low measurement errors, with an accuracy level of 1% to 2%. They are widely used in industries such as water, oil, and gas. II. Electromagnetic flow meters: Electromagnetic flow meters utilize Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction to measure the velocity and flow rate of conductive fluids. Their advantages include the ability to measure liquids containing impurities, insensitivity to liquid temperature, and the absence of moving parts. III. Ultrasonic flow meters: Ultrasonic flow meters are types of flow meters that measure flow by emitting ultrasonic waves. Due to their contactless measurement method, they do not contaminate the fluid, making them suitable for applications with high viscosity or high temperatures. In addition, ultrasonic flowmeters can measure the flow rate of various fluid media in pipelines, including liquids, gases, steam, etc. They are very powerful flowmeters, but their measurement accuracy is slightly lower compared to other types of flowmeters. IV. Differential Pressure Flow Meters A differential pressure flow meter is a sensor that measures the magnitude of the pressure difference by utilizing the fluid velocity in the pipeline and the change in the cross-sectional area of the pipeline, thereby calculating the flow rate. This type of flow meter has a simple structure, is relatively inexpensive, and has a wide range of applications. However, it requires a certain pressure head to be generated in the pipeline in order to carry out measurements; as a result, it has high requirements for the fluid and is not suitable for measuring contaminated media such as pastes. In summary, under non-full-pipe conditions, various types of flow meters can be used, including vortex flow meters, magnetic flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, and differential pressure flow meters. Selecting the appropriate type based on the specific application scenario and characteristics of the medium can enhance the stability and measurement accuracy of the flow meter, thereby meeting the measurement requirements.
