The first raw material storage tank for the pyrolysis phase of Yulin Chemical’s demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal on a differentiated basis is now ready for installation. Author/Source: Yulin Chemical Company, Shaanxi Coal Group. Date: July 3, 2020. Clicks: 8. On July 1, the final construction step for the foundation of the first raw material storage tank in this project, namely the installation of the insulation layer, was completed, marking that the tank is now ready for installation. It is understood that a total of 7 raw material storage tanks are designed, and the first tank ready for installation is a steel vaulted tank with specifications of Φ23700*H12530, and a volume of 5000 m3; it is primarily used for storing raw material coal tar. The project was overall contracted by Shengbang Technology Co., Ltd., with China National Chemical Engineering Corporation Sixth Construction Company acting as the subcontractor. Construction on the raw material tank area began on May 10, and it intersects with tasks such as the construction of secondary pipelines within the plant, the installation of pipelines throughout the site, and pile foundation excavation, which continues to increase the difficulty of on-site work. To ensure project progress, the company’s 1.2 million tons per year coal powder pyrolysis project team has organized several specialized meetings with professional engineers, supervision agencies, general contractors, and construction subcontractors. These meetings were held to address various issues related to on-site construction in the finished product storage area, and to arrange appropriately the management personnel, workers, construction equipment, as well as the sequence of construction tasks. During the construction period, and while ensuring operational safety, a total of 4 excavators, 23 dump trucks, and 4 loaders were deployed at the tank farm construction site during peak times. Within 20 days, more than 110,000 cubic meters of soil was removed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the tank foundations. At the same time, to accelerate the construction progress, steel rebar sheds and carpentry sheds were built on site, creating favorable conditions for setting up formwork for the foundation ring wall of the tank assembly. At present, the ring walls of 3 storage tanks in the raw material tank area have been poured, and the steel plates have arrived at the construction site; the raw material storage tanks are now ready for installation.
