Ceremony for the commencement of construction of the Aerospace Powder Coal Gasification Unit in Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical Industry Gas Island project held / Author/Source: HuaHuaNet Coal Chemicals / Date: 2019-03-28 / Clicks: 7 On March 22, the ceremony for the commencement of construction of the Aerospace Powder Coal Gasification Unit as part of Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.’s Industry Gas Island project was held in Qinzhou, Guangxi. The industrial gas island project of Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. has a total investment of around 14.3 billion yuan; it is part of the coal chemical industry chain. Construction began in November 2017, and the facility produces industrial gases such as hydrogen, syngas, and nitrogen for use by users within the industrial park, as well as chemical products like methanol, ethylene glycol, and acetic acid. It is reported that the target deadline for the aerospace coal gasification unit in the industrial gas island project is to complete its handover by the end of 2020. On December 29, 2018, Guangxi Huayi Company signed a general contract for the construction of the gasification unit in the industrial gas island project with the Aerospace Engineering Company; the contract value was 1.502 billion yuan, and 5 sets of aerospace powder gasification furnaces were selected for use in this project. The Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integrated Base is located in the Qinzhou Petrochemical Industrial Park, covering an area of about 8,000 mu, and will be developed in three phases. Among them, the first-phase industrial gas island project, with a total investment of around 14.3 billion yuan, is part of the coal chemical industry chain. Construction began in November 2017; it aims to produce industrial gases such as hydrogen, syngas, and nitrogen for use by enterprises within the park, as well as chemical products like methanol, ethylene glycol, and acetic acid. Completion and operation are expected by 2020. The second-phase light hydrocarbon cracking and comprehensive utilization project has a total investment of 20.8 billion yuan. It focuses on ethane cracking and propane dehydrogenation as its core processes, producing products such as polyethylene, ethylene glycol, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), acrylic acids and esters, polyether polyols, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride. Currently, both parties are intensively carrying out preliminary tasks such as feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, safety evaluations, stability assessments, and energy efficiency evaluations, with the goal of starting construction by the end of October 2019. The third-phase methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project, with a total investment of around 18.3 billion yuan, will produce products such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride; construction is expected to begin in 2025.
