On April 25, reporters learned from Henan Jindadi Chemical Co., Ltd. that the first set in China of large-scale gasification furnaces of this type – featuring a water-cooled wall with direct radiation heating and two operating units plus one backup unit (Jinhua Furnace 3.0) – developed jointly by Yangmei Group and Tsinghua University, has reached an operational load of over 95%. Each furnace can process more than 1,500 tons of coal per day, resulting in a daily ammonia production of over 900 tons; these figures fully meet the design requirements, indicating significant progress in the trial operation phase. Yang Yuchen, chairman of Jinshan Chemical Group, stated that the Jinhua Furnace 3.0 is the core equipment for the company’s ammonia synthesis relocation and renovation project, replacing 33 traditional fixed-bed gasifiers at once. During the trial operation, they optimized and adjusted five aspects of the process and design: the syngas outlet pipe, the internals of the scrubber tower, the amount of water used for quenching as well as the valves controlling this quenching water, the wastewater pulping process, and the waste heat recovery system in the flash vaporization unit. As a result, the production load was increased continuously, and the overall benefits began to become apparent. Su Dong, executive vice president and secretary-general of the Henan Petrochemical Association, explained that the Jinhua Furnace 3.0 was applied at Henan Jindadi Chemical Company, achieving three global firsts in China’s water-coal slurry gasification technology. First, Jindadi uses the new Jinhua Furnace 3.0, setting a precedent for its use in Henan Province, across China, and around the world. The Jinhua Furnace 3.0 (coal slurry + water wall + directly connected radiant waste boiler + quenching process) at Yangmei Fengxi Linyi Company was developed by upgrading the Jinhua Furnace 2.0 (coal slurry + water wall + quenching process), rather than being built from scratch. Secondly, Jindi Di uses three Jinhua Furnace 3.0 units, with two in operation and one as a backup; the coal input per unit is 1,500 tons per day, which is the highest among furnaces of this type worldwide. When all three units are in operation, the daily coal consumption can exceed 4,500 tons. Recently, the daily coal input per furnace has exceeded 1,500 tons, and the daily output of synthetic ammonia has surpassed 900 tons, fully meeting the design requirements. Thirdly, the Jin Dadi Jin Hua furnace 3.0 has a pressure of 6.5 Mpa, which is the highest pressure level for this type of furnace in the world at present. After the pressure was increased from 3.8 Mpa to 6.5 Mpa, the compression power consumption of the entire system was significantly reduced. “The latest international technologies and equipment, along with the lowest operating costs in the country, are our goals and foundation as a business. ”Yang Yuchen said that the relocation and renovation project for Jin Earth’ s ammonia synthesis facility makes use of a range of world-leading or advanced technologies and equipment, such as the V-type controllable heat transfer conversion system and Casali’s latest synthesis technology, in conjunction with the core 3.0 technology of the Jinhua furnace. The entire product chain is optimized as part of this effort, with the goal of turning this project into a model for transformation and upgrading in Henan Province, and of making the company a leading enterprise in the high-quality development of China’s chlor-alkali industry.
