Successful Boiler Ignition for Shaanxi Jingyi Chemical’s 500,000-ton Coal Tar Deep Processing Project Author/Source: Northwest Electric Power First Engineering Company Date: 11-19-2019 Clicks: 19 On November 15, the No. 2 boiler of the Jingyi Chemical project, constructed by Northwest Electric Power First Engineering Company, was successfully ignited on the first attempt. During the boiler ignition process, all departments worked together in unity, coordinated closely, and fulfilled their respective responsibilities. By strictly implementing various safety and environmental control measures, it was ensured that the ignition process proceeded smoothly. Shaanxi Jingyi Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project for the deep processing of coal tar and multi-product integrated utilization represents the first large-scale coal-based aromatic hydrocarbon production line in China. It enables a comprehensive and systematic utilization of coal at different quality levels, representing a new industrial approach to the conversion and use of coal. The total investment in the project is 4.6 billion yuan. Once it is operational, it is expected to generate an annual sales revenue of around 4.5 billion yuan, with tax payments of over 600 million yuan. The project will also create employment for more than 1,000 people, bringing about significant economic and social benefits. The project is located in the Jinjie Industrial Park in Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province. The scale of construction includes a power station comprising 3×240 t/h high-temperature and high-pressure mixed combustion circulating fluidized bed boilers, 2×50 megawatt high-temperature and high-pressure direct air-cooled double-condensing steam turbines, 2×60 megawatt air-cooled generators, as well as civil engineering and installation works for other associated auxiliary systems. The project mainly includes a 550,000-ton/year coal tar pretreatment unit, a 500,000-ton/year coal tar fluidized-bed hydrocracking unit, a 450,000-ton/year coal tar fixed-bed hydrocracking unit, a 400,000-ton/year naphtha continuous reforming unit, a 170,000-ton/year aromatic extraction unit, a 50,000 cubic meters per hour coal-to-hydrogen unit, a 50,000 cubic meters per hour air separation unit, and a 100,000-ton/year methanol synthesis unit. It also includes related supporting facilities such as hydrogen purification (PSA) units, sulfur recovery units, phenol-amine recovery units, storage and transportation systems, as well as other auxiliary and environmental protection systems.
