Yulin Energy Group and Zhongke Synthetic Oil Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement Author/Source: Huahua Network Coal Chemicals Date: 2019-02-12 Clicks: 20 On February 2, Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group Co., Ltd. and Zhongke Synthetic Oil Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the Yulin People’s Building. Yang Yang, Director of the Yulin Development and Reform Commission; Han Zhiwei, Deputy Director of the Yulin Industry and Information Technology Bureau; other relevant officials from departments such as the Command Center for the Construction of Yulin’s High-End Energy and Chemical Industry Base; Yang Yong, Executive President of Zhongke Synthetic Oil Technology Company; Zheng Dawei, Party Secretary of the company; Zhao Yong, Party Secretary of Yueneng Group Company; Huang Ye, Deputy Chief Engineer; as well as representatives from both sides attended the signing ceremony, which was presided over by Huang Ye. Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly establish a research and development center for clean coal conversion technologies in Yulin Science and Innovation City. Once established, this research and development center will bring to Yulin world-class teams specializing in the research and development of clean coal conversion technologies. It will carry out research and development in this field as well as promote its application, advance industrial-scale testing projects related to clean coal conversion technologies, and facilitate the implementation of outstanding domestic achievements in advanced coal conversion technologies in Yulin. This strategic partnership between Yueneng Group and Zhongke Synthetic Oil represents another significant step taken by Yueneng Group to implement the policies of Shaanxi Province aimed at promoting the high-quality development of Yulin, as well as the guidelines set out at the fifth plenary session of the Yulin Municipal Party Committee. It will contribute to the development of Yulin’s high-end energy and chemical industry bases and its science and innovation cities, while also helping Yueneng Group to reach a new level in terms of technological innovation. Approved by the relevant authorities in Shaanxi Province and funded by the local government of Yulin City, it is a comprehensive energy group under provincial jurisdiction but managed at the city level. It was formed through the merger of six state-owned enterprises based in Yulin City, including Yulin Yushen Coal Co., Ltd. Its headquarters is located in the High-Tech Zone of Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. At present, it oversees 6 holding and wholly-owned enterprises, including Yushen Coal and Electricity Co., Ltd., Coal Transportation and Marketing Co., Ltd., Coal Import and Export Co., Ltd., Resource Development Co., Ltd., Hengshan Coal and Electricity Co., Ltd., and Guojiatan Mining Co., Ltd., all part of the Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group. Zhongke Synthetic Oil Technology Co., Ltd. is a platform company for the industrialization and technical support of synthetic oil technologies, established by a research team led by scientist Li Yongwang from the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with companies such as Inner Mongolia Yitai, Shanxi Lu’an, and China Shenhua. The company possesses research and development centers for clean fuels produced from coal as an energy source, engineering laboratories for the indirect liquefaction of coal, as well as key laboratories in Beijing dedicated to clean fuels derived from coal and other research platforms for the development of technologies related to the clean conversion of coal. The company and its subsidiaries hold a total of 174 patents. It played a leading role in completing coal indirect liquefaction demonstration projects such as those at Shanxi Lu’an with a capacity of 160,000 tons per year, Inner Mongolia Yitai with 160,000 tons per year, and China Shenhua with 180,000 tons per year. It was also involved in the commercial demonstration projects for coal indirect liquefaction: Shenhua Ningmei with a capacity of 4 million tons per year, Yitai Hangjinqi with 1.2 million tons per year, and Shanxi Lu’an with 1 million tons per year. The company has received awards such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award in 2005, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in the energy sector in 2011, the Major Contribution Award in Science and Technology from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in 2017, and the Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in 2018.
