Progress of Xinjiang Tianye’s 1 million tons/year syngas-based ethylene glycol production project Author/Source: Jinhua Lvu Date: 2020-06-04 Clicks: 8 Recently, the air separation unit of the first phase of Xinjiang Tianye’s 1 million tons/year syngas-based ethylene glycol production project, which is capable of producing 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, was successfully commissioned, starting to produce oxygen and nitrogen products. The water treatment process in the water system of the EPC package produces qualified reclaimed water, with all process parameters meeting the specified standards. It laid a solid foundation for subsequent adjustments of related processes. The first phase of Xinjiang Tianye Huihe New Materials Co., Ltd.’s project for producing ethylene glycol from syngas at a capacity of 1 million tons per year involves the production of ethylene glycol from syngas at a capacity of 600,000 tons per year. The gasification technology utilized is that of the water-cooled wall waste boiler gasifier using coal water slurry (Jinhua Furnace 3.0), and three such gasification units are in operation with one as a backup. The project is located in the Shihu Tan New Materials Industrial Park, Unit 147, Shihezi City, Eighth Division. It is the first project to be developed in this industrial park. The planned area for this project is 2,200 mu, with a total investment of 7.99 billion yuan. It represents a new starting point for Xinjiang Tianye Group as it strives to embark on a second phase of development and achieve a valuation of 100 billion yuan for the company. Construction of the first phase of this project began in August 2017.
