On the morning of that day, Academician Bao Xinhe, together with Yang Yue, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Yanchang Petroleum Group, Hu Guangfa, the chief engineer, and other members of the team, went to the site of the group’s Project 504 for an on-site inspection. At the coordination meeting held subsequently, Yueneng Chemical Company and Beijing Engineering Company, which are part of this group, reported on the progress of the commissioning of Project 504, the work plan, the key issues that need to be addressed, as well as the technical upgrades carried out for Project 504. The participating organizations exchanged views on issues related to the project’s trial operation and put forward suggestions for improvement. Taking into account the international development landscape, Academician Bao Xinhe provided an overview of the industry-related background from the perspectives of **energy security and technical research. He also offered constructive suggestions regarding the trial operation of Project 504, covering aspects such as the number of modifications required, the performance of new catalysts, safety and quality standards, and calibration issues. He emphasized that the testing must be carried out while ensuring safety, in order to identify the optimal operating conditions and fully demonstrate the technical features and advantages of the project. Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and Yanchang Petroleum have a solid foundation for cooperation and are willing to further strengthen their collaboration in related fields. Yang Yue said that Yanchang Petroleum will earnestly implement the relevant directives from the central government regarding the deepening of reform in the science and technology system, as well as the establishment of a technological innovation framework centered on enterprises, driven by the market, and featuring close integration among industry, academia, and research institutions. It will fully fulfill its responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise and unremittingly pursue and deepen cooperation among these three sectors. All relevant units within the group are required to properly recognize the significance of Project 504, focus on the goal of \"safe and high-quality commissioning with the exploration of optimal operating parameters,\" and thoroughly identify any gaps in aspects such as the process package, engineering design, and quality control during the construction phase. In particular, priority must be given to safety and quality during commissioning to ensure that the project progresses safely and efficiently. The meeting also discussed and made arrangements regarding important matters such as the technical calibration and evaluation after the trial operation of Project 504, as well as the release of its results.
