From July 18th to 19th, the Engineering Department of Sinopec’s 600,000-ton/year coal-to-olefins project in Zijin organized a review meeting to discuss the unified requirements for the project’s overall design in Guiyang. The meeting was organized by Guizhou Energy Chemical Company, and was chaired by Nie Aijie, deputy head of the headquarters’ Engineering Department. 24 invited experts from within the group company, relevant functional departments at the headquarters and Great Wall Energy Chemical, units involved in the project, Lin Guo, vice general manager of Guizhou Energy Chemical, and related departments attended the meeting. At the meeting, Lin Guo reported on the progress of the project on behalf of Guizhou Energy Chemical Company ； Zhou Yongtao, project manager of Sinopec Engineering Construction Company, gave a report on the unified regulations for the overall design. Next, Guizhou Energy and Chemical Company will take this review meeting as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the project construction companies, promptly refine the relevant provisions in the overall project design standards, accelerate the implementation of all aspects of the overall design, ensure that the design objectives are achieved on schedule, and lay a solid foundation for speeding up the project construction. Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd. is a joint venture established by Sinopec and Guizhou Province. The company was registered and established in Zhijin County in June 2013. The project uses local anthracite from Guizhou as raw material, and employs coal gasification technology along with S-MTO technology to produce olefins. The construction scope includes the establishment of a 1.8 million tons per year methanol plant, a 1.8 million tons per year methanol-to-olefins plant, 300,000 tons per year of linear low-density polyethylene production facilities, and 300,000 tons per year of polypropylene production facilities, in addition to the associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities ； Cogeneration project (including dedicated railway line and slag yard); Zhijin employee shift dormitory project. The total investment in the project is approximately 22.1 billion yuan.
