Progress in the construction of the polyolefin facility as part of Shaanxi Yanchang Yulin Energy Chemicals’ improvement project. Author/Source: Compiled and published by the Nitrogen Fertilizer and Methanol Technology Network of Yueneng Chemicals. Date: May 20, 2019. Clicks: 13. On May 16, it was reported by the polyolefin project team at Yueneng Chemicals that the upper structure of the high-pressure secondary equipment for the LDPE/EVA plants in this improvement project was successfully poured after 16 hours and 50 minutes of continuous work. It is reported that the pouring work began at 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 15 days earlier than the planned schedule. This pouring task represents the most complex and technically demanding civil engineering work in the entire project. The high-pressure secondary unit is not only the critical path of the entire project but also the core component of the LDPE/EVA plant; it serves as the \"nervous system\" of the whole facility. The early pouring of the foundation for this equipment not only saves valuable time for its installation but also lays a solid foundation for the timely completion of the entire project. Currently, the long-cycle equipment for the LDPE/EVA units in the completion project is beginning to arrive one after another, and the project will enter the equipment installation phase ahead of schedule. The completion project for the first phase of Yulin Energy Chemical Complex is a key initiative aimed at implementing the requirements set by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to \"enhance the demonstration effect of the comprehensive utilization projects for coal, oil, and gas resources in Jingbian\", as well as the goals of Yan’an Petroleum Group to \"change its business model and adjust its structure\". With an investment of 14.413 billion yuan, this project will use coal and natural gas as raw materials to build integrated facilities capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2020, at which time Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will increase to 1.8 million tons per year.
