The Inner Mongolia Modern Coal Chemical Industry Index is a comprehensive industrial index developed by applying the principles of modern statistical science, index compilation methods, and comprehensive evaluation theories. It takes into account the actual development characteristics of the modern coal chemical industry in Inner Mongolia, and is formulated through the scientific classification and weighting of the main products in this industry. The index system includes the “Product Price Index” and the “Industry Development Index”. “The “Product Price Index” covers seven products – natural gas, high-temperature coal tar, methanol, PE, PP, synthetic ammonia, and urea – with price index calculations conducted separately for each of them; the “Industry Development Index” is assessed based on four aspects: industry scale, operational efficiency, scientific research and innovation, and green development. The product price index collects data on a weekly basis and compiles and publishes the index; the industry development index collects data on a quarterly basis and compiles and publishes the index. **Lu Yanchun, director of the Price Monitoring Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, believes that as a **model base for the production of modern coal chemical industries**, Inner Mongolia, at this critical stage when such industries are undergoing a \"high-quality transformation,\" can promote innovative applications in the era of \"big data + industry\" through the compilation and release of coal chemical industry indices. By analyzing these indices, it is possible to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current status and future direction of these industries. Moreover, monitoring and early warning systems in the coal chemical sector help to maximize economic benefits. This represents an innovation in the evaluation index system for China’s modern coal chemical industry, and it holds great practical significance for guiding the healthy development of the industry nationwide.
