In accordance with Zhongxin Chemical’s schedule, on the afternoon of March 3, the Thermal Power Plant received instructions to start the boiler early in the morning of March 4. All managers and employees at the plant immediately took action and began carrying out all the preparatory tasks required before starting the boiler, such as checking valves, powering up equipment, starting pumps to supply water, conducting tests, and loading coal into the coal bin. At 0:00 a.m. on March 4th, after the night shift of Boiler Team 3 took over, under the personal supervision of Shen Jie, the plant manager, technicians Shao Haixiang and Zhang Baowei led the crew on duty to successfully start the induced draft fan, return material fan, and primary fan of Boiler No. 3 one after another. At 0:56 a.m., the oil gun located on the east side of Boiler No. 3’s ignition platform was activated, and ignition was achieved in just one attempt. This laid a solid foundation for the operation of the subsequent systems and helped the company to get off to a fast start in its methanol production process.
