Recently, Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. and Shenmu Group successfully signed a contract for the compression units needed for the 1.8 million tons per year EG production facility as part of the first phase of this demonstration project aimed at utilizing coal in ways that yield new chemical materials. Leaders such as Song Shijie, Party Secretary and Executive Director of Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., Wang Huimin, Party Deputy Secretary and General Manager, and Ma Cheng, Party Deputy Secretary and General Manager of Shenmu Group, attended the signing ceremony. The “Demonstration Project for the Production of New Chemical Materials through the Differential Utilization of Coal” undertaken by Yulin Chemical Company of Shaanxi Coal Group is currently the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world. It is a key project during Shaanxi Province’s 13th Five-Year Plan period, and it was planned and developed by Shaanxi Coal Group by taking advantage of the resource advantages in northern Shaanxi, following a completely new industrial organization model. The total area of the project is approximately 13 square kilometers, and it includes 27 process units along with the associated utility systems. These mainly involve the medium- and low-temperature pyrolysis of 15 million tons of coal, the production of 5.6 million tons of methanol, 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, 2 million tons of polyester, and 2 million tons of olefins, as well as downstream products derived from these materials. The annual amount of coal processed exceeds 20 million tons, with an estimated total investment of over 120 billion yuan. During the early stages of the project, the leadership of SHENGU Group led teams on multiple occasions to engage in in-depth discussions with the client, exploring the project’s process flow and sharing experience related to the design, production, and maintenance of similar projects. They also took the client on site visits. Through these repeated exchanges, Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. ultimately decided to cooperate with SHENGU Group, entrusting it with the design and manufacture of key compressor equipment such as those used for propylene cooling, circulating hydrogen, and CO2 handling. This decision reflects a high level of trust and recognition in SHENGU Group. SHENGU Group will assign its most skilled team to carry out the design and manufacturing work for these compressor units, ensuring that it meets the client’s expectations. The successful signing of the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol project by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. has also represented a new breakthrough for Shengli Heavy Industry Group in terms of its performance in ethylene glycol production facilities, signaling that the company has now joined the ranks of world-class enterprises. In the future, SHENGU will work hand in hand with its customers to continue making progress in the development of solutions for heavy-duty equipment used in major projects, thereby contributing further to the advancement of China’s equipment manufacturing industry toward higher levels of sophistication and intelligence.
