Project for Producing 200,000 tons per year of fuel ethanol via CO2 reforming and biological fermentation using industrial waste gases – Author/Source: Lu’an Group; Date: 2020-03-26; Clicks: 108. The construction site of the first phase of this project has shaken off the impacts of the pandemic and has resumed work at full pace! CO2 reforming project to produce 200,000 tons per year of fuel ethanol using biological fermentation of industrial waste gas? It is too technical, so it might be confusing for everyone; here’s what happens: this project was developed through a strategic partnership between Lu’an Group and Jupeng Biology. It utilizes Jupeng Biology’s proprietary bacterial fermentation technology for the production of fuel ethanol, with waste gases from Lu’an Coal-based Synthetic Oil Co., Ltd. being used as raw material. Under normal temperature and pressure conditions, ethanol is synthesized efficiently, with high selectivity and speed. Fuel ethanol is then produced through distillation and dehydration processes. Meanwhile, the bacterial residue can be converted into feed protein by-products, thereby enabling effective carbon dioxide reduction, comprehensive utilization of waste gases, and the production of clean fuels. Construction on this project began in September 2018. According to the original schedule, work was supposed to resume at the beginning of February, but due to the impact of the pandemic, the resumption of construction kept getting delayed. Huang Kaihua, general manager of Shanxi Baiao Eisena New Energy Co., Ltd., told reporters: “In accordance with the requirements of the group company and those regarding epidemic prevention and control in Tunliu County, while ensuring proper implementation of epidemic prevention measures, we have actively communicated with the construction contractors. Work resumed officially at the beginning of March, and many workers have now arrived at the site to start working.” ” To date, 80% of the civil work for Phase 1 of this project has been completed, while 50% of the mechanical and electrical installation work has been finished. The project has now entered the stage of equipment and pipeline installation, and it is expected to be ready for trial operation by the end of August or early September this year. As a model project for the energy revolution in Shanxi Province, and as a key initiative aimed at advancing the new energy security strategy of \"four revolutions and one cooperation,\" the project to produce 200,000 tons per year of fuel ethanol through the biological fermentation of industrial waste gas using CO2 reforming will operate at full capacity to produce the first batch of biofuel ethanol as soon as possible, thereby generating greater economic, environmental, and social benefits.
