Recently, a meeting to advance the design work for the Yanchang Petroleum Yushen 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project, which is under EPC contracting by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was held in Beijing. The Xi’an branch and the project site participated in the meeting via video link. Zheng Wei, a director of the company and assistant to the general manager, presided over the meeting. More than 100 people, including relevant leaders and professional supervisors of various devices (units) as well as reviewers, attended the meeting. At the meeting, Tian Pinghan, the assistant to the company’s general manager and deputy project director, presented an overview of the overall progress of the project since its commencement two months ago, as well as details of the recent high-level coordination meetings held on site, and put forward requirements for advancing the relevant work on site. During the meeting, progress on the current design of each device (unit), the plans for delivering drawings by the end of the year, and existing problems were reported one by one. The heads of the relevant departments offered suggestions on how to advance project construction from aspects such as technology and human resources. Zheng Wei demanded that all members of the project team strictly adhere to the unified regulations and design style, maintain high standards for design quality, and advance all project tasks in an orderly manner, so as to achieve the goal of completing 50% of the design work and 50% of the civil construction by the end of this year. Construction of the driven piles for the ethanol production unit in the Yushen coal-based ethanol project is complete. Recently, with the successful pouring of the last driven pile, the work related to these driven piles for the 500,000-ton/year coal-based ethanol project carried out by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. under EPC contract has been completed as planned, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent commencement of comprehensive civil engineering works. The areas in the ethanol plant where piloting is required are located in the key sections such as the dimethyl ether framework, the carbonylation framework, the hydrogenation and product separation frameworks, and the tall floor-standing columns; in total, 212 piles need to be driven. Since work began on site on July 8, at the start of the local thunderstorm season, the project team conducted risk assessments of the adverse effects caused by environmental factors and took corresponding countermeasures to ensure the smooth transportation of raw materials, the supply of concrete, and the construction of pile foundations. Through precise scheduling, appropriate allocation of resources, and overtime work in shifts day and night, the pouring of piles was completed on schedule. Next, the project team will carry out comprehensive planning in accordance with the schedule, and proceed step by step with tasks such as pile foundation testing, excavation of foundation trenches for buildings, and foundation construction, to ensure that the goals set for this year are achieved. The 500,000 tons per year ethanol production facility is the core unit of the Yushen Energy Chemicals ethanol project. It utilizes the Yanchang Zhongke coal-based ethanol production technology, and by building on the successful experience gained from the 100,000 tons per year ethanol industrial demonstration facility, as well as taking advantage of the completion of the pile foundation construction, it will surely provide a solid foundation for the successful development of this ethanol project.
