On June 9, Yankuang Group completed the construction of the main framework for the substation in Yankuang Lunan Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 300,000-ton/year caprolactam and hydrogen peroxide production project. During the pandemic, the hydrogen peroxide plant project of Yankuang was one of the first EPC projects undertaken by Saiding Company to resume operations in 2020. With the hard work and efforts of the owners, supervisors, and various construction subcontractors from Lunan Chemical Industry, the Saiding project team adhered strictly to epidemic prevention measures and maintained high standards regarding project safety and quality. This allowed them to gain valuable time, enabling the completion of the main structure of the substation for the hydrogen peroxide plant. The Yankuang Lunan Chemicals project, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of caprolactam, is currently the largest single-capacity production facility for caprolactam under construction in China. The project is located in Mushi Town, Tengzhou City, Shandong Province, and it utilizes a safe and advanced hydrogen peroxide-based production process; it represents the largest fixed-bed hydrogen peroxide production facility of its kind in the country at present. On August 2, 2019, Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an EPC general contract for the hydrogen peroxide production unit of a 300,000 tons per year caprolactam project with Yankuang Lunan Chemical Co., Ltd.; upon completion, this facility will be able to produce 320,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of 35% per year, and the contract value is approximately 380 million yuan. At the topping-out ceremony, Li Zhengqiang, head of the Engineering Department at Yankuang Lunan Chemical Co., Ltd., and Kong Xiangyuan, director of Beijing Zhongheng Xinda Project Management Co., Ltd., praised the achievements of Saiding Company. This topping-out marks the first structure to be completed among all the general contracting projects for the caprolactam project, buying time for the comprehensive advancement of the project and laying the foundation for its completion on schedule. On October 19, 2019, the EPC general contract for the main units and auxiliary facilities of Yankuang Lunan Chemical’s project to produce 300,000 tons of caprolactam per year was signed with Tianchen, marking the entry of the project into its actual implementation phase. This project is currently the largest production facility for caprolactam in China in terms of single-unit production capacity. Once completed, it will be able to produce 320,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of 35% per year. The Yankuang Lunan Chemical project, which has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of caprolactam, involves an total investment of around 5.1 billion yuan. It utilizes advanced ammonoximation technology for the production of caprolactam. The construction includes a facility with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of caprolactam, a facility capable of producing 450,000 tons of ammonium sulfate per year, a facility for producing 270,000 tons of ** per year, a facility for producing 400,000 tons of sulfuric acid per year, a facility for producing 400,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide per year, a facility for producing 200,000 tons of polymer chips per year, as well as a coal distribution center and various supporting utility facilities. This will become the largest caprolactam production facility in China. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by June 2021.
