On the morning of August 2, an intermediate review meeting for this digital delivery project was held at our company regarding the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production facility as part of the first phase of Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical’s demonstration project for the use of coal in the production of new chemical materials. Chen Zhirong, the company’s deputy general manager, welcomed Wang Weifeng and his team from Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical. Zhang Gongming, the person in charge of the digital delivery project for Shaanxi Coal’s ethylene glycol production facility, Huang Wei, the deputy director of the Market Management Department, and key members of the digital delivery team were also present at the meeting. At the meeting, Wang Weifeng pointed out that digital delivery is the data foundation for Shaanxi Coal Group to achieve intelligent factories. Building digital factories alongside physical factories to create \"digital twins\" is also an important task for Shaanxi Coal Group in advancing both its material production capabilities and its transformation and upgrading efforts. The meeting heard Zhang Gongming’s presentation on the progress of the project. After the presentation, the expert reviewers present carefully examined various aspects such as SPPID for the process engineering field, SRD+SPM for piping engineering, Smart3D for 3D design, SPI for automatic control systems, SPF for information technology, and document management, providing valuable suggestions for improving and optimizing our company’s digital delivery processes. Under the unified leadership of the company’s management, and with careful planning by the Market Management Department and the Project Management Department, various specialized departments and units worked together in close collaboration to effectively advance the digital delivery project of Shanxi Coal. This effort helped to meet the owner’s expectations regarding the progress of the project. The implementation of digital delivery through a unified platform across the entire project is part of Shaanxi Coal Group’s strategic vision to advance digital initiatives and create first-class intelligent coal chemical factories. Digital integrated design delivery is the current focus of Shaanxi Coal’s digital delivery project team, but an intelligent factory represents the ultimate goal that the entire team is striving to achieve. All members of the digital delivery team will, as always, remain committed, maintain a high standard of work, and strive hard to contribute to helping the company take a leading position in intelligent manufacturing within the process industry in the future. The “Demonstration Project for the Production of Chemical New Materials through the Differential Utilization of Coal” undertaken by Yulin Chemical of Shaanxi Coal Group is currently the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world. This project was planned and developed by Shaanxi Coal Group, taking advantage of the resource advantages in northern Shaanxi, following a completely new industrial organization model. The total area of the project is approximately 13 square kilometers, and it includes 27 processing units along with the associated utility systems. These units are mainly used for the medium- and low-temperature pyrolysis of 15 million tons of coal, as well as the production of 5.6 million tons of methanol, 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, 2 million tons of polyester, and 2 million tons of olefins; downstream products are also manufactured using these materials as intermediate inputs. The annual amount of coal processed exceeds 20 million tons, with an estimated total investment of over 120 billion yuan. The project will be constructed in two phases and four stages. The investment for Phase 1 amounts to around 70 billion yuan. The 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production facility is part of Phase 1, Stage 1 of the project, and it represents the largest coal-based ethylene glycol plant under construction worldwide. Production of qualified products is scheduled to begin in June 2021, with the entire project expected to be completed and operational by 2025.
