On the 27th, the Tangjiahuigou mining area in Zhungeer Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Province, achieved a technological breakthrough that enabled coal extraction without actually seeing any coal, thanks to the use of underground coal gasification (ISC) technology. On that day, Orduos City Mayor Sichen Bilige announced in the Tangjiahuai mining area of Zhungeer Banner that the industrial demonstration project for coal underground gasification technology, funded by Huabang Holding Group’s financial investments through Zhongwei (Shanghai) Energy Technology Co., Ltd., had been successfully put into operation. ISC technology is a process that involves the controlled combustion and gasification of coal underground, generating combustible gases through thermal and chemical actions on the coal. It is reported that the company has currently obtained over 40 international and domestic patents related to ISC technology, covering the core areas of this technology and representing the highest level of development in ISC technology worldwide. It is reported that the biggest advantage of this process is that it eliminates the need for manual coal mining, and no workers need to enter underground to produce low-cost industrial gas and raw materials for chemical synthesis. The synthesized gas is transported to the surface through production wells; after physical washing, separation, and purification, it is supplied directly to downstream energy and chemical enterprises or for use in residential households. This approach effectively extends the coal chemical industry chain and increases the added value of coal as an energy source. Wang Feng, the head of Zhungeer Banner in Ordos City, said that coal underground gasification technology is a new approach for developing clean energy and chemical raw materials. It plays an important role in transforming traditional coal mining methods and promoting the safe, efficient, environmentally friendly, and clean utilization of coal. “The official commissioning of this project marks a new breakthrough as this new technology moves from the experimental stage to practical application. ”Wang Feng said that this technology is of great significance for accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the local industrial structure, increasing the added value of coal energy, and promoting the green and high-quality development of the mining industry
