Recently, the environmental impact assessment document for this 1 million tons per year acetic acid production project, with a total investment of 5.015 billion yuan, was approved by the Ordos Environmental Protection Bureau. The project is located in the Nalinhe Chemical Industry Zone of the Sulihe Economic Development Zone in Wushen Banner, Ordos City. Its production capacity is 1 million tons per year of acetic acid. The main construction elements include key facilities such as a coal-to-gas plant, a methanol plant, an acetic acid plant, and an air separation unit, as well as auxiliary systems such as water supply and drainage systems, heating systems, solid material storage and transportation systems, and liquid material storage and transportation systems. Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yijiahé Energy Co., Ltd., registered in Inner Mongolia. Zhuo Zheng Coal Chemical intends to build a 1-million-ton acetic acid production facility in the Nalinhe Chemical Industry Zone of Sulihe Economic Development Zone, Wushen Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region – on the land reserved for the first phase of a 600,000-ton coal-to-methanol project. The project will use coal as raw material and employ technologies such as multi-nozzle coal slurry gasification, sulfur-resistant shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, low-pressure methanol synthesis, and five-column distillation to produce high-purity methanol; acetic acid will be produced through the low-pressure carbonylation of methanol. Construction location: Nalinhe Chemical Project Area, Sulihe Economic Development Zone, Wushen Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Construction content: The scale of this project is 1 million tons per year of acetic acid. The capacity of the coal-to-gas plant is 206,476 Nm3/h (of effective gas CO+H2); the capacity of the methanol plant is 54.1×104 tons per year, that of the acetic acid plant is 100×104 tons per year, and the capacity of the air separation plant is 90,000 Nm3/h.
