Recently, the second design coordination meeting for Yushen Nenghua’s 500,000 tons/year coal-based ethanol project, which is under the general contracting of Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Beijing. At the meeting, the person in charge of the overall team reported on the work progress of the overall institute, as well as the key priorities and requirements for the next steps. After carefully listening to the presentation, the personnel from the owner’s side expressed satisfaction with the overall schedule of the project. They also analyzed the issues that existed in the overall design as the detailed engineering work progressed, and urged all relevant parties to take these matters seriously and respond promptly to ensure smooth progress in subsequent tasks. During the meeting, the General Institute and the various plant institutes reviewed the issues at the interface points and coordinated to propose solutions. The meeting required that all relevant departments adopt a unified approach, actively enhance communication and coordination both internally and externally, strengthen overall design management, and carry out detailed engineering design work efficiently and to high quality, in order to strive for the \"Quality Project Award\". Recently, a progress meeting for the 110 kV main substation of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yushen Energy Chemical Company’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project, which is under the general contract of Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully held. The meeting made detailed arrangements for the on-site design and construction work of this project. At the meeting, the main substation project team presented the power supply plan for the entire plant, providing detailed information on the design capacity of the main substation for the current phase, its future development capabilities, the overall layout of the main substation, the key milestones related to its construction, the timing at which it will be ready to receive power, as well as the current progress regarding its design, procurement, and construction. At the same time, discussions were held with the representatives from the local power company to outline the project requirements. Yushen Nenghua Company put forward specific requirements regarding the progress of the external wiring design and the main substation design, and requested that the two companies work together closely to ensure that the project progress meets the overall project deadlines. At present, the architectural drawings, structural drawings, plumbing and drainage drawings, telecommunications conduit drawings, and building electrical drawings for each building in the total transformation project have been delivered to the site, and design briefing meetings have been held involving the structural, electrical, and telecommunications teams. The construction of each building is also proceeding in accordance with the schedule; work on formwork for the first floor slab of the 35kV substation has already begun. The other buildings have completed the construction of their foundations and ground beams, and work on reinforcing the beams and columns has started gradually. The design, procurement, and construction work carried out by the main substation project team met the requirements of the third-level schedule, enabling all tasks to proceed smoothly. This laid a solid foundation for ensuring that the main substation was ready to receive power on time and could be delivered as scheduled. In 2020, Yushen Energy & Chemical will make every effort to advance the construction of the ethanol project by aiming to achieve three \"completions\", two \"50% targets\", and one \"start\". The three \"completions\" refer to completing the annual investment of 1.18 billion yuan in the project, finalizing the EPC contract for the ethanol project, and completing the procurement of long-term-use equipment ; The two “50%” refer to completing 50% of the detailed design and 50% of the civil construction work ; A “Start” means beginning the device installation. On June 2, the signing ceremony for the EPC general contract of Yushen Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. of Yanchang Petroleum’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project was held in Xi’an. Li Junlin, executive director of Yushen Nenghua Company, signed EPC general contract agreements for the ethanol project with Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Company and China Aerospace Changzheng Engineering Company respectively. Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shaanxi Construction Group, won two bidding packages worth a total of 3.78 billion yuan. The EPC general contracting for bid sections 1 and 2 of this project involves public auxiliary facilities and plant-wide system engineering, as well as process facilities and water treatment systems, respectively. As the EPC general contractor for the gasification unit of this project, the Aerospace Engineering Company signed a general contract with Yushen Energy Chemical Company, with a contract value of 590 million yuan. The project uses 2 2,000-ton-class space furnaces. The 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project of Yanchang Petroleum in Yushen utilizes the dimethyl ether carbonylation technology for ethanol production, which was developed jointly by Yanchang Petroleum and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to generate 500,000 tons of ethanol annually. The project requires an investment of 6.98 billion yuan; it is located in the South Area of Qingshui Industrial Park, Yushen Industrial Park, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, covering an area of 1,365 mu. Completion is scheduled for mid-2021, with full operation and compliance with standards achieved by 2022. The construction scope includes a methanol complex (devices such as coal unloading and storage facilities, gasification units, shift reactors, purification units, gas separation units, methanol production units, and sulfur treatment units), an ethanol plant (units including dimethyl ether production, carbonylation processes, hydrogenation units, separation systems, compression equipment, heating furnaces, and refrigeration stations), as well as new constructions for utility systems and auxiliary facilities; the design capacity is 1.22 million tons of coal to be converted per year.
