The general contracting project for the renovation of the deacidification and ammonia evaporation tower at Shanxi Yongxiang Coal and Coke Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yongxiang Coking”) was successfully completed in a single operation. This project utilizes the technology package developed by Tianjin Chuangju Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chuangju Technology”) for producing 20% high-concentration ammonia water from excess ammonia water, in order to transform the existing ammonia distillation tower. 01 Renovation plan: The existing ammonia vaporization tower at Yongxiang Coking is severely clogged, has insufficient processing capacity, and produces ammonia water of low concentration; when this ammonia water is used in the desulfurization system, it causes problems with the level of the desulfurization solution. In this renovation, an acid removal section was added above the original ammonia evaporation tower, which effectively removes acidic gases such as CO₂ and H₂S present in the raw materials. This prevents the problems associated with traditional ammonia evaporation processes, where high-concentration ammonia solutions can cause crystallization and blockages in pipes and equipment, thereby preventing stable operation over time. At the same time, in response to environmental protection requirements and to reduce the amount of ammonia vaporization waste water, the original direct steam-based ammonia vaporization method was replaced with an indirect method using a reboiler. The CJVP series of high-efficiency anti-clogging spray trays: The original trays were prone to clogging. To address this serious issue of clogging, this project utilizes our company’s newly developed CJVP series of high-efficiency anti-clogging spray trays, which do not have any components that are prone to clogging, thus ensuring both high tray efficiency and excellent anti-clogging performance. 02 Operating parameters for driving the process: With a designed processing capacity of 35 m3/h, the ammonia nitrogen content in the wastewater at the bottom of the tower remains around 100 ppm, while the concentration of ammonia produced is 20%, which is used to supplement ammonia in the desulfurization solution. The project was successfully commissioned in a single attempt on July 21, 2020, with only one month elapsed from the start of general construction to its successful operation. ———Deacidification and ammonia evaporation tower —— It has been over four months since the project was put into operation, and all performance indicators meet the design specifications, achieving the objectives and expectations of the renovation. Chuangju Technology’s one-stop service, covering design, production, general construction, and operation guidance, has received full approval and recognition from the client, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation between Yongxiang Coking and Chuangju Technology. In response to environmental protection initiatives, the construction of the oil-enriched heater for Yongxiang Coking, which is currently under our company’s general contracting, is underway as a replacement for the tubular furnace project. This project primarily uses medium-pressure steam generated as a by-product of the dry quenching process to replace the tube furnaces that originally used gas as fuel, thereby reducing smoke emissions and easing the environmental pressure on the enterprise.
