Thanks to the relentless efforts of all the employees involved, the project undertaken by the Ningxia branch for zero-discharge of high-salinity water in Ningxia Baofeng Clean Energy has recently reached an important milestone, with salt being successfully produced. This marks the completion of the entire project process, following over 4 months of intensive construction work. At the beginning of this year, the Ningxia branch took on the construction task of the Baofeng Clean Energy High-Salinity Water Zero-Discharge project, for which Shanghai Jingyu provided the EPC general contracting services. During the peak of the outbreak in mid-March, the branch office took proactive action without waiting for instructions; it organized the resumption of work and production. The majority of management staff began making plans in advance while in quarantine, made scientific arrangements, and actively arranged for construction workers to arrive on site. At the start of operations, the branch faced numerous difficulties. Due to the pandemic and various other factors, materials and mechanical equipment cannot keep up with the progress on site; the large number of construction sites, long project lengths, and tight deadlines pose significant obstacles to the smooth advancement of the project. Faced with difficulties, all employees and staff stepped up to meet the challenges. At critical moments during the project’s implementation, the key managers of the branch and project teams played a leading role as role models; they worked together with the construction workers from Company 1 for building projects, Company 5 for installation work, and Company 2 for electrical and instrumentation tasks. They worked overtime, fought tirelessly, had meals delivered to the site both at noon and in the evening, and worked more than 14 hours per day. The project team reverses the sequencing of various plans, enhances the effectiveness of daily meetings, and organizes construction carefully. Driven by this enthusiasm, within just over 4 months, civil engineering work accomplished 1600 m3 of masonry, 420 equipment foundations, 7500㎡ of floor construction, and 7800㎡ of anti-corrosion treatment, thereby creating the conditions necessary for the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems. For the electrical and instrumentation installation work, while a reasonable completion time is 6 months, 92,000 DB of process pipelines were installed, 528 pieces of equipment were set up, 156 tons of steel structures were fabricated and installed, and 37,000 meters of cables were laid within just over 2 months. Faced with seemingly impossible tasks, the branch companies and project teams gritted their teeth, stood at the forefront, and persisted to the end, fully demonstrating the excellent traditions and work ethic of Sinochem Third Construction’s employees – their ability to endure hardship, fight hard, and make sacrifices – and earning unanimous praise from the clients and general contractors.
